It’s showtime at Volunteer Park Conservatory! For 75 years Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association members have been growing and showing exhibition chrysanthemums in the greater Puget Sound area. We will have hundreds of blooms on display October 27th - 29th between 10 am and 4 pm at VPC. Chrysanthemum come in many shapes and forms. Come check them out!
The Evergreen Chrysanthemum Association is an amateur non-profit garden club that was established in 1947. We have a long history of growing Chrysanthemums in the greater Puget Sound region and showing them in regional, national and international competitions. The Club presently has approximately 200 different mum cultivars circulating among our club members. Many of these will be on display at our annual show. These varieties are seldom available at garden nurseries or in flower shops. New stock is perpetuated from cuttings taken each year by our members and supplemented by assorted specialty nurseries.
I often tell gardeners in our region to rediscover their “Evergreen State”, which (in a play on words) simply means to show some gardening style with the structure, texture and color of conifers.
